About Us
Kiowa is a Chapter in Lodge 104 which is part of Section 7 Area B in the Southern Region (SR-7B). Kiowa is based out of and serves the Impeesa District in Occoneechee Council. We were re-founded in January of 2011 after previously being split in 2004 into Kato Hochuli and Impeesa Chapters and Falls and Baden Powell Districts. Our chapter is composed of youth under 21 and adults 21 & older from the troops in Impeesa District. Our purpose is to have fun while promoting the values of scouting through various forms of service to the district, council, lodge, and units there-in.
Some of our past activities have included doing a ceremony and running a trading post at the Falls District Fall Camporee in 2005 and 2011, doing dance demonstrations and information sessions at Blue & Golds as well as the Wake County Area Cub Scout Day Camp in 2005.
We attend lodge events at Camp Durant where we do service projects to make the camp look and operate better in addition to our own activities to keep members interested in our organization.
We have one ceremony team that participates in the Tap-Out, Pre-Ordeal, and Ordeal ceremonies. We also participate in ceremonies at Cub Scout Blue and Golds and Webelos Crossovers upon the request of packs.
We meet the second Thursday of every month in the Fellowship Hall (as you come up driveway, keep driving around back) in back of Benson Memorial United Methodist Church, on Highway 50 just North of Crabtree Valley Mall from 7:00 - 8:30pm. Food is served at 6:30pm. If you come to meetings not only will you have a great time, but you will have the opportunity to voice your opinion and recommend new activities to do.
We hope to see you there!
